Enrico Kölling (occasionally spelled Enrico Koelling[4] or Enrico Kolling) (born in 27 February, 1990[1]) is a German amateur light heavyweight boxer, fighting out of German capital Berlin, his hometown.[5]

Enrico Kölling started boxing at the age of 8. One of early steps of him was when he had got the gold medal at German Junior National Championships at the age of 17, in Altentreptow in 2007, as he defeated Alexander Onozke and Dominik Bösel at middle weight division.[6]
Kölling first achieved success on international level in July 2007, when he grasped the bronze medal following his defeat in the middle weight (75 kg) semi final of 2007 European Amateur Boxing Championships in Sambor, Serbia; against Nikola Jovanovic, the only champion of the event from the hosting nation.[7] Following year, 2008, Kölling competed at I. Youth World Amateur Boxing Championships,[8] in which a total of 359 fighters from 68 different countries competed in Guadalajara, Mexico.[9] Beat four of his opponent respectively, Kölling failed to get the gold medal in the middle weight final, scored 4:2 in favour of Rey Eduardo Recio from Cuba.[10][4]
Moved up a weight division, at the age of 19, Kölling became the German Nationals champion at light heavyweight (81 kg), beating Eugen Schellenberg, Dennis Gördel, Benjamin Schmidt respectively.[11][12]
In May 2011, Kölling secured his spot in German National team to take a side at 2011 World Amateur Boxing Championships to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan between 16 September, 2011 to 1 October,[13] following his victory against his compatriot Tyron Zeuge at Round Robin Team Tournament in Germany.[14] Kölling have entered into the World Championship as the No.4 seeded athlete at 81 kg. division, passed through bye in first round.[15] Beat Erdenebayar Sandagsuren of Mongolia in 2nd Round on points, he was defeated by Julio César la Cruz after 3 rounds by 8–6 on points, in which he qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics.[16]
